Could be. Generally, the price goes up as the charger features go up.
The one I got has, I think an 8 or 10 hour recharge time, which is fine
for me, as I also bought a second set of batteries. That way I don't
get "caught with my pants down" :) At the time is was looking for them,
there were quick chargers available that will recharge in three hours.
They were a bit more expensive. (Note: I just took a quick peek around
the web & now see chargers with 15 minute recharge times!)
If the recharge time is not important to you then the package you saw
would probably be fine as long as you plan ahead and check your battery
state often. I bought the extra batteries 'cause I'm not so great at
remembering to check after shooting, and then missing an opportunity the
next time due to dead batteries. With kids, ya know, they don't exactly
plan those "kodak moments"!
The best I can advise is to think about your needs. Do you mostly plan
photo "outings" where you could recharge ahead of time or is it mostly
spontanious "snapshots"? Are you likely to remember to recharge? If
not then a second set (kept charged, of course) might be a good idea.
Of course perhaps the best route to go might be to go ahead & get the
package & see how it meets your needs, you can always get another set of
batteries later if you find that your habits/needs require them!

PS: If you want, you can reply here or email me with the brand/model #
you are considering, & I could check out the specs on it.
