Yeah, "Happy Holidays" sounds so generic. . .

I used to work with people from all over. One year I got very into the
Christmas shopping thing and bought everyone in the office an ornament.

LOL! You haven't been embarrassed until you buy someone an ornament
when they don't have a Christmas tree! I just wasn't thinking. Even
the Jewish people at that place had Christmas trees, so I just assumed
the Chinese woman had one, too.

She didn't. But, lucky for me, the ornament I gave her was very
secular in theme, and she could just put it up as a glittery decoration
somewhere.
