Assistance talking

I've been very worried about losing my ability to talk, or communicate
if my disability progresses too much more, sometimes if I'm sitting
wrong I can't inhale enough to make much sound... Bless my helpers,
they generally understand me, but communicating with a stranger is
difficult, since I tend to be funny first and helpful last. It often
misses my target... and then there I am, looking goofier and crazier by
the moment in my huge spacious 2003 Permobil cruiser (huge being the
operative word here) decorated with fuzzy dice. And wearing a
reflecting dot between my eyes! Sure, I'm perfectly normal...
OK, on that cheerful note, back to my discovery.

I use a Macintosh osX Emac, Macs are so extremely easy (and dependable)
especially for assistive software. This program will speak for you,
like Steven Hawking uses! Any body part that you can rely on, even a
twitch (!) can trigger a switch on a cross scanning keyboard on the
screen. A laptop can even be fastened over your laying -flat -on -your
-back -helpless -face -to -the -ceiling worst dream/nightmare
scenario.
It's a bit of comfort to me, and I'm telling every one I think of, so
they'll know and because I've been helpless and had somebody assume I
wanted Jerry Springer THIS LOUD on the teevee, when "off" was my true
preference, and having the ability to say OH Please! Turn it to
Mastepiece Theater! would be a happy thought to have on those long
nights.
If there is a job opening for Queen of Adaptation I want to apply.
Thats all's I know.
Lo
