It appears many (not just here) are making incorrect judgments after
hearing Lustig's lectures.
The harmful effects of fructose only appear during hypercaloric intake
or eating meals that have an extremely large amount of (liquid)
fructose that's outside the range of even the already overloaded
fructose American diet. [1] [2] [3]. Otherwise there are no problems
with fructose.
This can result in two problems:
1. Avoidance of fruits and their unique phyto-nutrients. These
nutrients have powerful, unique effects and are not available in any
supplement.
2. Avoidance of moderate amount of fructose in meals that been shown
to be helpful to diabetics. [4]
If your really interested in a more details check out this interview
with one of the top researchers in the world (highly recommended):

If your really, really interested check out the videos for this
presentation from "Experimental Biology 2012". Both the speakers and
attendees are working scientists. Lustig is one of the presenters.
Be sure to watch the question and answer period. This are Really
interesting for folks that like this kind of stuff and IMO much more
balanced that what was presented earlier.
