FBG 99I realise that exercise has a long-term effect on bg, but I always have
eight miles biking to a restaurant in forty minutes
BG 122
medium carb breakfast (kept the toast but skipped the potatoes)
about an hour later, BG 115
YMMV

my biggest drops in bg when I exercise after eating. And that presumes it
is at least 45 minutes after. Doing it before or straight after has often
given me a liver dump and made my bg shoot up.
Henry.
For me, and yes, YMMV, if I don't have enough carbs in my meal, I'll dump
and jump between 80 and 100 points.
As mentioned before, I'm very active ( a couple days ago, for example, I
was doing a toe-in set and steering wheel alignment on my Jeep in 40 F
weather) and if I let myself dump, I have to skip some carbs to bring it
back in line, but, for me, a liver dump is like a sugar spike: fast rise
but short lived.
Then I too low suddenly.

starting the ride immediately after breakfast (a small slice of multi grain
toast), on arrival at work I'd find a big bg spike. Then the carbs in the
breakfast would kick in, and my bg would go up even more.
If on the other hand before starting my ride I waited 45 minutes after
having breakfast, my bg on arrival at work would be lower than it was when I
started. It became a rule for me to wait that "magic" 45 minutes.
By the way, Budd, I too believe that some carbs are OK as long as I work
them off, which I still do, but with increased difficulty. I'm just
selective about the carbs I eat..... Usually, but not always, I must admit.
Tonight after an almost zero carb dinner I indulged in a croissant.......
Worked that off on my exercise bike...
