I decided to try this again. I quit using it because it seemed to be
causing burping and now I know why! See the link below. I was taking it
for GERD but this link says it might improve gastric emptying. So we'll
see. I'm on my second day of it.
Back in the day, my favorite candy was candied orange peel, either plain or
dark chocolate dipped. Can't remember the last time I had any of that but
oddly the burping yields that flavor. So... This might help with my
gastroparesis.
I had to throw out my GERD wedge. It was old and broken down. I had
ordered a different one but it's like sleeping on a piece of Styrofoam.
Eek! That was causing worse backaches than my old GERD wedge was. I have
since ordered the same model as I had in the past, even though the price has
more than doubled from what I used to pay. So I am sleeping on no GERD
wedge and yet I am having no symptoms. So far, so good.

I suppose you know my two suggestions for GERD?
Betaine hydrochloride with bovine pepsin capsules with
larger meals.
And 6 milligrams of melatonin at bedtime.
As I suppose you might recall, I constructed a special bed some years
ago that tilted the entire bed. This helped and was better than the
bed wedges.
I did abandon this approach.
I know and have emailed others who have tried it all.
The first two will hold for most. I understand Julie this may not be
the case for you. Still best wishes and if you are good well this
is really great. I know with GERD one can REALLY suffer.
The betaine HCL does work even though PubMed has NOTHING on it.
PubMed does have a bit of research on melatonin in the context of
GERD.
I too have done the back aches in the past ...............Trig
