Thanks Kate! Last year they found a slight "thickening" on one of my
heart
valves, but expected to progress slowly. I am in fact due for a review
with
my cardiologist next month. I have been prone to such aches and pains for
decades (inherited from my mother) and tend to be reluctant to run to the
doctor at the first sign of possible trouble.

Henry.

Henry, hubby was under the care of a cardiologist for a pending bipass op

the cardio told us if he experienced ANY pains, he should get to ER and
get moved up the line if need be

better to err on the side of caution, please :D

G'day Kate,

Sorry about your hubby, but I suppose it's better finding out<before>
rather than after.

In my case, I do have a gut feeling that after decades of diabetes, mostly
undiagnosed, my arteries must be gunging up to some extent. As I said, I've
had a tendency to have mysterious chest pains, the first episode, which
lasted a year or so, around 1974 when I was in my 20s. That's what makes me
reluctant to undergo an array of tests every time I have such aches.

Today has so far been without these aches. I'll still go to the doctor and
have an ECG tomorrow. I'll also ring the heart specialist and try to advance
my routine appointment from mid February to this month.

Henry.

Henry, that's what i'm trying to say........... if you have those pains and go to ER, they do a quick ECG on you

if things are funky, the cardio sees you right now, no questions asked

hubby is thrilled with the double bypass and wouldn't hesitate to have another done......... but he's counting on another 15 years with the one he has so.....

hey, a person can only live so long, right?
