Well I am stressing. Its got the blood pressure up. 150/90.
I'll have buy some meter strips. I suppose stress
drives up BG? I don't suppose this would lower blood glucose.
Relax I tell myself but it doesn't
work............................Trig
I heard a report on radio many years ago stating that stress was
indeed one
of the biggest causes of death. In my opinion even people who tell
you
they
"thrive on stress" or "need some stress" are kidding themselves.
Henry
If I am any example, it is bad.
Another day, another morning BP which is better if not ideal at 130/81
and a pulse
of 63. I still feel somewhat in stress mode. Maybe a trip into town
for strips. Should I further limit the coffee?
Trig
Went to bed late. I am still wound up like a clock. I had a glass of
wine rather late and it still lingers in the system. I'll be the BG
will
go up or be going up due to the morning dump. Or not. The BG is
86! So I am wrong for now.
BP is OK for me though not ideal at 126/84 with a pulse of 76.
Things to do today, no exercise........................Trig
I'll have my morning coffee/crossword combination (all good stress relief)
then catch a train to visit some IBM mates (more stress relief, especially
when I think I'm no longer at IBM). Unfortunately I'll have to do my 10
kilometres - moderately intensive - on exercise bike - while watching TV.
That is a necessary fact of life, no matter how the body is protesting. I
rarely measure my bp these days. It is around your figures - sometimes
lower, sometimes higher.
Henry
Me, I need to get at the underlying causes of my very real worries.
And I agree about real direct human contact. At best, I was only
moderately social back in the day. Watching the BP keeps me
from denial and guides keep on with certain things.
I've started doing a few puzzles. But I have reading and paper
work in need of doing. The usenet is one of my relief valves such
as it is.
You posting bp figures, Trig, and the frequent references to bg figures on
ASD, made me think how important figures are in managing this disease. Of
course figures are necessary to <know> what is happening, but figures are
also important in keeping you motivated. You yourself know what bp figure is
good for you, and what is bad, and you do things which hopefully will
maintain the good figure. You, I and most other diabetics at ASD I'm sure
eat or medicate or exercise with a certain bg figure in mind. I can now in
my mind translate anything I eat into a bg figure with a good degree of
accuracy. I eat accordingly.
Insulin helped me achieve better bg numbers, but it wasn't just insulin - it
was because I also started measuring my bg more frequently. Suddenly I knew
a lot better what foods made me spike. So I started eating healthier - to my
figures.
My Type 1 diabetic friend dutifully records his bg figures on a small chart.
I am not sure to what extent this makes his diabetes management better, but
it certainly gives him some motivation - some purpose. It may even provide
stress relief when you achieve a certain figure you've been aiming for.
Henry
Keep on testing that bp, Trig!
Henry
