Tea doesn't affect my arthritis but neither does it act as a diuretic. I've never had to supplement to cover the effects of diuretics. If you are concerned take a supplement...

I've been weighing myself so regularly I've noticed an odd effect of
drinking tea. I usually drink a few mugs of strong tea a day. Someone
suggested I try stopping tea to see if it helped with my arthritis. So
I did. No effect on my arthritis, but I instantly gained a few
pounds. Started drinking tea. Instantly lost a few pounds. Tried
again. Same effect.
Which I guess must be the diuretic effect of the tea drinking. Which
makes me wonder at the wisdom of drinking a diuretic every
day. Because the flushing effect of a diuretic lets more than water
out through the kidneys. It also flushes out some of the water soluble
stuff (vits etc.) which it's the job of the kidneys to keep back.
