Well, there is always caulk and that inexpensive , reusable plastic
sheeting with sticky stuff aound the edges tht we used to use on our
windows even with storms. It doesn't look great, but it keep the place
much warmerin winter.
You'd be surprised what landlords won't let you do sometimes. For example, despite living in a crappy old house I am not allowed to put up a picture hook. One of those kinds that has a tiny pinprick hole, barely visible, easily filled if necessary and touched up with a little dab of paint. No blow up pool for the grandkids, even though the grass is easily seeded or turfed.
