Both are welcome. As someone approaching being a T2, I have limited
opinion as to the issues of T1's or even those with late stage T2 DM

Late stage T2 on insulin? Last I checked insulin is frequently used
with newly diagnosed type 2s.
I don't think that has been the protocol for many years. My dad, brother
and I are all type 2. I have had it for longer than they have. For all of
us, diet, exercise and meds were no longer working. And for me? Seems
insulin isn't working either. Actually it doesn't seem to be working for my
brother either. And we are frustrating our Drs.
But yes, statistics indicate that most type 2s will be on insulin if they
live long enough.
