Have you considered the idea that your higher BP may be fat induced?
(sorry to go off on a tangent).
I think it is product of time and elevated blood glucose. Of course,
if I had limited my fats and ate a high carb whole grain diet with
fruit
and veggies instead of a whole grain, ad libitum fat
with fruit and veggies and meat perhaps it would have been
different or not? Or perhaps I would have hit the wall
earlier?
What would I do different to prevent the approaching DM?
I know what I would have done. First and foremost no weight gain. Second
I would have exercised to build muscle. Third I wouldn't have eaten lots
of whole grain foods (to the point of over eating), I would have chosen
a better balance between them, protein and fats.
That could be a question. Does anyone have the answer? Or is it
personally relevant? I know what the measurement unit says to extent
it doesn't deceive.
Less nitrated foods, much less going to conventional Doctors knowing
what I know now, no ice cream ever, no sweet wine, no baking,
no fake maple syrup, no real maple syrup, no pancakes of part
whole wheat, no orange juice, no grape juice, no bread, less fruit
in the do over............funny thing would it really make difference?
If everything you ate had have been in much smaller amounts then it
possibly would have been ok.
And how decades do I have to go back in the do over ;-)
I would have to go back to my teens.
On reflection and in response. Much of what you say makes
sense. In the "do over", we might need to go back a couple
of generations and improve nutrition all the way along the line
perhaps even covering my great grand mothers famines.
Certainly, I cut the most of the hotcakes and syrup of childhood, I
keep
me on breast feeding and improve the nutrition of the mother
during that span. I'd cut all the simple sugars of childhood except
for the fruits.
The weight gain slipped up on me. Towards the end it started
to pile on, which I did reverse. Earlier on I had hiked much of it
off but without dropping the grains and sugars it came back and
without
the supplements, I came up lame and I stopped hiking/walking.
the good old days were dangerous and hunger and they are
coming
again............................................................................Trig
