Survey Shows Many Diabetes Patients Know Which Shoes Are Best but
Don't Wear Them

They can take their shoe rules and shove them where the sun don't shine. I
don't have neuropathy. I'll go barefoot and wear sandals as much as I like.
I'll be damned if I'll engage in elaborate rituals about foot washing and
drying.

Save that for those who have followed the advice of the so-called diabetes
professionals for decades and who are suffering the effects of
out-of-control BG as a result.

Not sure why you're so angry about this. You, like all PWD, have the
prerogative to do whatever you choose to do when it comes to diabetes.
The so called diabetes professionals you speak of - with whom you
paint a broad uncited general hate brush stroke - will not come over
to your house and do a foot check. There are many people with diabetes
who work very hard to stay in control (and who do not have out-of-
control bgs) do have to worry about foot problems and may get them
despite their best efforts. These kind of problems can be very real
and hopefully you will not ever have any but many do. You seem like an
intelligent person, so I would assume that you are aware that although
keeping bg as close to normal as possible is certainly our best chance
at avoiding or delaying complications, it is not a guarantee that
someone won't get any, or all. I mean you do know this is a fact,
right?
