That's where my telogen effluvium was concentrated after my severe illness and fever last fall. Fortunately, for me, it stopped faster than normal and grew back as thick as ever abnormally soon, too.

Any stress, illness, anesthesia, childbirth, all sorts of things can cause TE, which usually sheds for 3-6 mos, and takes a year to grow back.
