I can't say, but it is well known that steroid blocking can reverse
refractory major depression and is valuable adjunctively in bipolar
disorder. Also effective with psychosis.
Anything which interferes with the normal regulation of hormones will,
apart from whatever physiological and biochemical effects it has, also
affect moods. In some cases moods (and mood regulation) can be
affected enough to appear to be a change of personality. While this is
generally recognised, there's an odd reluctance to do research into
the details. Of course I mean scientific research. There's no shortage
of people doing their own individual research into drugs which change
their moods :-)
