It's hard to decide where to inject anything into this thread any
more so's
everyone will see it. But somewhere I did mention that I have
discontinued the banana. And with the doctors blessing since I am
taking potassium pills anyway.

I just want to say I really admire you for attacking this disease
head-on even though you are already somewhat down the road on it. May
you continue to go from strength to strength. :)

I like the smileys. I try to keep my sense of humor as I go along. I
scanned the medical information that came with my prescription of ACTOS
today. It's at http://mewnlite.com/actos.jpg

If I have heart failure it will more likely be from reading all the
warnings than it will be from the medication!

It's kind of like watching those commercials on TV for various drugs.
They spend more time telling you about the possible side effects than
they do the benefits. Like "you could die." :-)

And to whoever questioned whether the pharmacist was a *real* pharmacist
the answer is yes.

To those who suggested that my doctor might not know what he's doing, I
will have to admit that maybe in my case he should refer me to a
specialist. The problem here is that I have been seeing him for 15 years,
we have become friends, he does business with me, and it will be hard to
tell him I want s second opinion. I'm kind of wishing he'd just refer me
to someone else at least as far as the diabetes is concerned. He is only
a PA but is more respected than the doctor he works under. Otherwise I
may just have to break away on my own.

Sorry to put this all in one reply but this thread is getting so long and
fragmented that it is too hard to go back and try to find the right place
for the right replies. I'm just hoping that most are following along and
will see my comments.

I do a considerable amount of posting in some of the tech newsgroups but
I've never created a monster like this before! :-)

And, as always, I appreciate all of you. Well, maybe I'm not too sure
about the Ooo Flung Dung guy... :-)
