was tempted to quote a few things from this that I've been saying for
quite some time about what the ADA really has to say as opposed to the
lies posted about them from those in here who bark their dogma, but
instead just read the article and draw your own conclusions:

Interesting article. I was particularly impressed by this paragraph.

"Not only that, but carbs are an efficient source of energy. Like
gasoline powers a car, glucose powers your body, says Neal Barnard,
MD, adjunct associate professor of medicine at the George Washington
University School of Medicine and author of "Dr. Neal Barnard's Program
for Reversing Diabetes". The idea that carbohydrate is a problem is,
in my opinion, a mistaken one."

A program for *reversing* diabetes? What's more, apparently regarded
favourably by the ADA!

Let's have a look at Dr Neal Barnard's book website.

http://www.nealbarnard.org/diabetes_book.htm

The subtitle of the book is "The Scientifically Proven System for
Reversing Diabetes Without Drugs".

"A new book by nutrition researcher Neal Barnard, M.D., outlines a
completely new dietary approach to preventing, controlling, and even
reversing diabetes. The program is based on a series of research
studies Dr. Barnard and his colleagues have conducted over the years,
the latest funded by the National Institutes of Health. Published in
the August 2006 issue of Diabetes Care, that study found Dr. Barnard's
program to be three times more effective than the American Diabetes
Association dietary guidelines at controlling blood sugar."

Three times more effective than the ADA's dietary guidelines! And
without drugs! Published in the ADA's own journal in 2006. So at least
in 2006 the ADA *did* have dietary guidelines specific enough for
comparisons to be made in a scientific study.

So there are aspects to this ADA article which certainly aren't things
the ADA have been saying for ages. Nice to see them changing their
tune, but not sure I like them shifting in Dr Barnard's direction.

[I note that in this posting I have not only suggested some criticism
of the ADA's advice to T2s, but also of Dr Meal Barnard, a
professional medical doctor. To help newbies place this in context, I
should point out that this strengthens Kurt's hypothesis that I'm a
notorious ADA hater and discrediter of professional medical
authorities whose agenda is never to lose an opportunity of posting
lies and misrepresentations about the ADA and doctors.]

This is something new for Chris. Instead of finding a way to twist
what is written in the article, Chris tries to discredit the ADA by
going after one of the people quoted in the article. Not the quote
itself, but things that have nothing to do with the point of the
article.. Pretty desperate, but not surprising.

Wouldn't it have just been easier to admit that you have
misrepresented what the ADA says and that contrary to what you and
your hater nation say, they don't advise a one size fits all diet for
people with diabetes? BTW, mine is not a hypothesis about you, it has
become a fact proven by your own words. Newbies will see that soon
enough without your help.
