"I generally would eat about 10 servings of fruits and vegetables a
day. But I ate everything else too. I would eat a wide range of food,
a little bit of everything, including foods that aren=92t considered
=93healthy=94. :"
He was not diabetic, he lost weight, and he remained not diabetic and
for a short time aite a high carb diet. The weight loss alone explains
the "reverse" because insulin resistance would respond quickly to weight
loss. Fewer calories was the obvious cause of weight loss.
I fail to see what has been proven relative to a frank diabetic. Unlike
this person who obviously had ample beta cell mass, a diabetic at
diagnosis has lost 1/2 beta cell mass that is not coming back and more
likely to go down in fact.
All changes when frank diabetes is in the picture and one must balance
available insulin with carb intake. Such a high carb single item based
diet would cause rapid problems in a diabetic. There is no similar
"reverse" in a diabetic without controlling carb intake on the balance
side of the picture.
This reminds me of the recent news about losing weight on a twinky diet,
it works and weight is lost if calories are restricted. Both are in
that sense stunts.
