What was the diet prior to the potato intervention?
Milkshakes and corn syrup? How weight weight was lost.
Did you check the links I provided? ? The answeres are there
Weight was lost the way weight is always lost: Calories out - Calories
in = a negative number.
For the first of the diet he ate about 1600 kcal then increased to
2200 kcals. Nothing but potatoes were consumed
Testing results, before and after were done by the same medical lab
via a doctor.

Here's his pre diet:
"My best estimate is that it was probably a little better than the
average US citizen only because of a high rate of produce consumption.
I generally would eat about 10 servings of fruits and vegetables a
day. But I ate everything else too. I would eat a wide range of food,
a little bit of everything, including foods that aren’t considered
“healthy”. :
