I would imagine most Christians know that Jesus probably was not born

Answer: I don't know. There are a lot of explanations, and most
people trot out their favorite one as if no other exists.
And for most people, the one that's their favorite says more about
their attitude toward Christianity than about historical fact.
We adopted the date to rob other people of their religion.
Or we did it to prevent our people from celebrating with their
pagan neighbors at that time.
Or we did it because by doing as the Romans do we were less likely
to have the Romans feeds us to the lions.
Or we did it because we're just plain stupid and couldn't figure
out how to read the calendar.
No matter which theory you choose to believe, I wish all of you
a Merry EVERYday. Even the ones in my killfile.
