For me, two 325 mg aspirins a day over a period of several years results
in the opening up a of an otherwise quiescent ulcer into a bleeding state.

I confess I did not look at the actual study, just reposted the article
someone sent me. Usually when daily aspirin is prescribed, it's only one
81-mg coated pill, but I don't know whether that's what the people in the
study took or not.

It was a metastudy. The studies it considered used doses ranging from
75mg to 500mg daily. My doc prescribes me 81mg soluble dispersible
aspirin which is first to be dissolved a glass of water and then drunk
with a meal in order to reduce the stomach bleeding risks.

FWIW, there was a study a few years ago that showed taking the 81 mg aspirin at night also helps reduce blood pressure, whereas taking it at any other time of day does not.

The coated ("enteric") low-dose aspirin has the coating in order to avoid stomach bleeding. All I know is that once I put one in a vase of roses (because aspirin is supposed to help keep roses fresh) and it never dissolved at all!
