you know my take. The discussion is in the archive

1) Spikes before 2h don't contribute to damage because the first part of the
glycation reaction is reversible.

2) you dont know your fat spike, so you are trading "high glucose" (which
you can measure) for "high post prandial triglycerides" of which you have no
idea and are as bad as high glucose spikes.

All the articles I exchanged about this with you and Chris are also in the
archives

I'll comment on the rest later - out of time at the moment.

To be honest, although that may be in the archives, I was surprised to
read the first one. I had not realised you believed "Spikes before 2h
don't contribute to damage". Somehow I missed that in our
conversations.

On that point we are diametrically opposed. Regardless of how
reversible it may be I cannot agree that spikes over normal
non-diabetic levels are harmless. Certainly not without a lot of
qualification. Possibly occasional, infrequent spikes may be harmless
but not the repeated, uncontrolled spikes of a type 2 with insulin
resistance.

Just a trivial side issue, but if post-prandial trigs are as bad as
post-prandial BG spikes, and post-prandial BG spikes are harmless,
then both are harmless :)
