Really revolutionary -- getting tomorrow's news today!

I plan to use my iPad in the living room -- it'll be more comfortable
than a laptop for entertainment use. I don't plan to do anything
"productive" with it!

I haven't looked at it (no need (I have a laptop and netbook)), but
I've read 'reports' that it doesn't have a directory/folder structure
and that it can not do multi-tasking. The latter is probably no big
deal, but the former sounds extremely limited/silly.

It's not a computer & doesn't really pretend to be, at least as I see it.
It has its place but it's not for everyone.

For an entertainment device (or even a quick casual net-surf), it's
certainly more comfortable (form factor) than a laptop or even a netbook,
and it's bigger than the Touch (which I've been using extensively). Apps &
playlists manage "files" (music, videos, games, books, pdf files etc.) quite
well with iTunes on your computer as a "coordinator" (there's probably a
better word for it) to transfer things & keep it updated & so on.

What do you want to do with folders?
If I want to "work" I'll go to my desk or carry my laptop with me.

It's probably hard to believe, but I'm actually a rather organized
kind of guy! :-)

For the kind of files you mention - music, videos, games, books, pdf
- files etc (and photos), I keep stuff in folders. For a portable
device, whatever the size, ie. also a iPad type of device, I want to
keep stuff in sync with my main computer (laptop), so I don't get in a
"Oh, that's on my *other* computer." type of situation all the time. So
if I would buy/use an iPad type of device, it would need to have a
folder/directory stucture like a 'real' computer.
