Does anyone know whether diabetes is commonly used to deny
coverage? I'm not talking about switching from one plan to
another, I'm talking about trying to buy coverage as an
uninsured person with a pre-existing condition.

In 2014 health care insurance companies will be required to
insure everyone regardless of pre-existing conditions. However,
ObamaCare does not prevent them from charging according to the
risk, so the price will be the same or higher than today. If you
are financially unable to afford private insurance, in 2014 you
could be insured by the health care exchanges formed by your
state. These exchanges are to be set up with several different
levels of coverage. The higher levels will cost more of course.
It is assumed that those unable to pay for the higher levels will
only be insured at the lower levels, the lower levels will not
include outpatient care, only hospital care.

So the message will still be "just die as quickly and cheaply as
possible and get out of our way."

That's the change ObamaCare makes at a cost of over $1 trillion. I
didn't vote for him/it.

It's comments like these that expose Republicans as the party of no,
which has lately become the party of hate. Not sure if it is all just
because they are so desperate to try and get back to even a shadow of
their former self in the political arena, or they truly are all
drinking the kool-aid that FOX news has been serving for a long long
time.

Calling Obama "It" or "The Anointed One" and taking nasty shots at
him which range from calling him a socialist to questioning his
religion and citizenship is doing more to divide this country than at
any time in our history. There are a lot of lies out there and it is
fueling the goobers who turn that political hate talk into violent
acts.

I believe what he was saying is that he did not vote for him (obama) or
it (obamacare). Neither did I.

You don't have to embrace Obama as your President, but you should at
least acknowledge how much good he has done in one year which pretty
much dwarfs what the last administration did in eight years. His
accomplishments are many, not the least of which is achieving a
foundation for a national healthcare program that should have been
enacted many years ago. I notice that Anon, like most Republicans,
posted the lie that the healthcare plan would cost a trillion. Well,
no it doesn't cost that much and the CBO found that it would CUT the
deficit by $130 billion and reduce the deficit by $1.2 trillion in
the second decade of the plan's implementation. Do you remember what
the stock market was like when he came into office? It bottomed out
at under 6000. Friday it closed at about 11,000. Now let's turn to
world issues and his efforts to shore up our position in the Mid-East
by pulling out of Iraq (where we never should have been) and focus on
Afghanistan where we should have been in the first place. He is now
currently engaged in addressing the ever fragile nuclear arms issue
by calling for a scaleback and more regulation from ALL countries.
This was something the God of the Republican Party Ronald Reagan also
fought for, but now that Obama is doing it all the Republicans can do
is, yet again, criticize him.

Back during the campaign, I was a very militant Hillary supporter. I
truly thought she would make the better President. We didn't get to
see what kind of job she would have done, but I am surprised and
delighted with President Obama and what he has done in the short time
he has been in office. A lot of great things, despite the Republicans
trying to put up roadblocks in front of everything he tries to do.
I'm surprised FOX News didn't decry the wanton and unchecked spending
for all those eggs used in this year's White House lawn Easter egg
roll. "He's out of control...and in cahoots with the Easter Bunny, a
known socialist who engages in giving things to people who don't even
pay taxes!!!!!"

Kurt

Typical liberal rant. He basically has done nothing except accept a
prize on the basis of what he may (but probably won't) do in the
future. He has thrown three trillion dollars down the rathole,
unemployment is still near 20% and the economy still sucks - but we do
have socialized medicine coming on board in four more years.

I did not know that Aetna, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, and Country Wide
were socialist companies. How do these things get by me? Now explain to
me why we pay twice as much as other countries to get the same benefits.

They aren't, but they'll all be dead in a few years anyway. Because we
pay a LOT less in taxes.
