Those folks must be too busy going to dialysis and having limbs
amputated, or dealing with too much vision loss to post here.

Here's one

More seriously, my experience is that there are one or two in most
groups where I've either posted or lurked, certainly less than a
single figure percentage of all posters. They are usually but not
exclusively male.

Here's one with a pretty decent website

Compared to the rest of us they're so uncommon that their techniques
certainly aren't the most effective to be preached to Type 2s in
general (and a fair proportion of Type 1s don't follow ADA protocols
either)

Trink, the website above is the best explanation of this disease I have
come across. I read every word very carefully. It really helped me to get
to a better understanding of what has happened and is happening in my
body. His article also helped me to understand that exercise is really the
best medicine we can take. He also affirmed my experience with Metformin.
It just does not seem to do much of anything for me. Exercise works far
better to control BG levels than does the Met. That was his experience
too.

He had the self-discipline to reduce his calorie intake. I and by far most
people are simply not able to do this successfully over the long haul.

So, for me, an extremely low carb diet prevents dangerous BG levels and
also has the advantage of lowering my insulin levels and my weight. Until
I read this essay, I did not understand how dangerous insulin can be.
Simply shooting insulin to make your meter come out right is a very
dangerous manoeuvre. I had no idea.
