PP, Do you think the body would come to harm from its own insulin and

He is very clear that high insulin levels cause inflammation and thus
heart disease. I doubt that injected insulin is any safer than that
produced by your own body.

I see people eating high carb diets. At least they are clearly high
carb to me. They then inject enough insulin to make their meter give
them the proper reading. I would have thought nothing of this coping
mechanism until I read his treatise. It appears that having high
insulin resistance and injecting enough insulin to keep your reading
"safe" will in the end, kill you.

It's well known that excessive use of exogenous insulin can and does
lead to insulin resistance. And high insulin has other very harmful
effects apart from IR.

Hi Susan,

This guy's treatise on the subject really was good for me. It finally brought everything together for me. I understand this disease a little better now.

Before reading his treatise, I considered my first line of defence after d&e for T2 would be insulin. I reasoned that this was a substance to which the body was already accustomed. It is accustomed all right but only to a certain level.

Shooting insulin so I can eat a peach, is clearly a mistake. I hate to admit it, but I was considering. My PCP was certainly ready to start me on insulin if I wanted.

If I truly want to stay healthy I need to simply follow my wife's example. I guess I was looking for a shortcut. It appears there are none. Time to have another close encounter with my treadmill. It has been difficult for me to accept the truth, there is no magic drug. Denial can be very clever and subtle.
