Well, I don't haul out the 10" Dob as much as I should in the winter cold.
I have pretty dark skies here- the Andromeda Galaxy is a naked eye object
on clear moonless nights.
Ham radio, gardening (particularly heirloom varieties; I'm a member of the
Seed Saver's Exchange).
Oh, and I'm doing a virtual trek of the Appalachian Trail on my Nordic
Track; marking off the distance traveled on the section guides. Currently
headed for Brickey's Gap in Virginia. I usually listen to podcasts while
working out.
Good thing I'm retired; not enough time to go to work!

Hi Gary,
I too am a had radio operator. I am not into all the high tech stuff
with the internet etc. I just use my radio, amp, and a 75 meter loop
antenna. I mostly stick to HF.

Is ham radio like CB radio, where you can talk to others - or is it
just a *listening in * kind of thing?
