  Yes, that's a quite common trait in this 'support' group. Getting
unsolicited advice, especially when there's no reason whatsoever to give
advice. And then they get all moody when you're not grateful for their
'advice'. Boggles the mind!

My point was missed throughout this. I wasnt having a tantrum over
someone not following my advice

That's the way these discussions work, they branch off.

  If you want to bring up something else, i.e. that your point was
missed, then do just that, but don't quote, or at least don't quote
unrelated responses.
