Yes, that's a quite common trait in this 'support' group. Getting
unsolicited advice, especially when there's no reason whatsoever to give
advice. And then they get all moody when you're not grateful for their
'advice'. Boggles the mind!

It wouldn't stop me. And in some countries 100 miles is peanuts. But I
can't judge the/your financials. In our country - The Netherlands - we
pay an arm and a leg for mandatory insurance, but then most medical
care, including diabetes specialists is covered.

As many others have said, IMO you need to loosen up and set more
realistic targets. I've also addressed the (negative) quality of life
aspects, but you didn't bother to respond.

Considering your current 'approach', I would be very suprised if it
*did* 'work'.
