The ADA helps us work sweets into our diet:

OK, how many type 2s here have two slices of regular bread with a meal ?
You
can have low calorie bread instead and "have the cookies" too !
Great news !
Not everyone eats the same way. Most people can't do well on a diet
like some of us here eat. Some people don't want to base all of their
diet on just meat. Some people don't want to base all of their diet
on just vegetables. Carb exchange is one dietary approach of many and
since a carb is a carb then yes someone can include a cookie into
their meal plan. Some people in this newsgroup eat cookies from time
to time. Some people exercise more than others. Some people are more
active during the day than others. Some people eat more calories than
others. Some people actually understand that everyone is different.
Some people like Paul L don't seem to understand that. Good thing Paul
L isn't a doctor.
