I think we as individuals have our own situations. My son was sick for
8-10 days with what was diagnosed as H1N1. My wife came down with the
same thing...So far, I have not gotten it, even though the vaccine is
not available as yet.
My son's doctor says he does not think I will get it, because at 61
yrs of age, I have already been exposed to substantially similar
viruses in my lifetime... He referenced the Asian Flu of the 1950s and
the Hong Kong Flu of the 1960s as examples, and I was very ill with
both versions of the flu during those times. The idea is that many of
us older folk have already got immunity to this latest round, because
or our prior illnesses...
Still, when the vaccine becomes available, I intend to take the shot!
Maybe I've just been lucky....
