I have a friend that was thinking of being tested for the breast cancer gene, so I asked her what she was prepared to do if she carried the gene? Double mastectomy? What? She already has mammograms every six months, pap smears, and a host of blood work, so what would be the point of knowing? In your case, as with my sister, I can see it since you've already had breast cancer. Otherwise, I don't see the point in stressing oneself like that, but that's just me. I prefer to be surprised with some things. ;-)

Thing is, I'm pretty sure doctors were alerted to stop using the CA 125 to screen for ovarian cancer at least a decade ago, due to all the scares and unreliability.
