IMHO - no big losss. He should have been in prison after what he did.
I think he did a lot more good on the outside than he ever could have done
in prison, and I'm sure it's a huge loss to his family and his
constituents.

He got off light (just about scot-free) from Chappaq -- but of course, he
was in Kennedy Country so I was not really surprised. I had left the area
just a few weeks earlier; I had years of exposure to the local "Kennedy
(*any* Kennedy) is God" atmosphere.
He got all-but-handed the Senate seat to start with. Just because he
eventually did a some good things doesn't change his history. It does,
apparently, drown out any memory of the now-long-forgotten-by-most, victim
of his....mistakes....and make it socially pretty unacceptable to even
mention it.
I'm sure there are plenty of people in prison who could "do more good on the
outside" -- but they aren't well-connected &/or Big Celebs &/or didn't have
the luck (?) to commit their acts where they're given a free pass for a lot
of misbehavior.
