Just one small point. You speak of your bg umping or spiking 20 points
after eating a meal conaining salad. that is not a spike. Most meals
raise you bgs more than that adn then they come down. You really should
not try to have close to the same reading after eating as before in a
short timeI think youur porblem maay well be gettign the before meal
number down so the post meal nmber is no more than 140 at 1 hour and 120
at two.
I am a type 2 of over 23 years and still have no complications and have
been followint that pattern as much as possible for the last 13-14 years.
I do take metformin and a tiny dose of amaryl at night for fbgs
