I also got the thin lens...but they were still pretty thick...and cost allot...I'm just so glad that my eyesight is so much better now. My Daughter in-law got the Visian ICL surgery....she thinks it is great. It's still a bit expensive , she makes good money and saved for it. She had a real hard time wearing contacts, and her glasses gave her a headache.

oh ya, expensive lenses!

i was really excited about the eye surgery to correct your vision....... then about 10 people at work had their eyes done, in a matter of 6 months......... 1 person thinks it's the worst thing that has every happened to her, and if only she could go back in time....... 3 people were not pleased, but able to live with the results....... 4 people liked their results, but didn't feel the surgery was worth it as they didn't get 20/20 vision, so they still needed glasses (as did the 3 people who were not pleaed.......... and 2 people actually got 20/20 vision or better and were thrilled with the results

one thing i noted..... the only 2 who were thrilled with the results were under 30
the 4 people who weren't happy with the results were 50+
and the 4 who liked the results but didn't feel the surgery was worth it, were in the 40+ range

presbyopia seemed to be a problem, even when one eye was corrected for distance and one eye for near, or any of the variations the eye Dr and patient discuss for their outcomes

My DIL is In her early 30's. My husband had Lasik's surgery about 8 years ago ....his eyes weren't really that bad but did need some correction.....they only did one eye for the near and far thing...it seems to work for him.
Maybe the kind of surgery my DIL is only for the young who's eyes have not gone to far with aging. It is still pretty new and I think we will probably find improvement as time goes on.
