How do you avoid getting the damn thing?
An occasional shower would be a good start.
rude, condescending, etc...) - definitely not helpful. Although, granted,
keeping clean is important, it is not always the remedy for everything.
I was diagnosed Type 2 about 15 years ago. My fungal infections have
manifested themselves in three ways: A red spot in the middle of my chest,
which tends to spread if not controlled; breakouts of lumps and sores over
my feet (best descriiption I can think of), which tends to spread and
looks quite horrifying if not controlled; itchy crotch, on and off -
aggravated by my cycling to work. All three are controlled (but not
eliminated) by using anti-fungal cream, probably similar to what the
original poster was prescribed.
I shower daily most of the time (I hope this is adequate for you, Paul). I
have found, though, that often you can be "over clean" - showering too
much, with too much soap, and too vigorously. I found that occasionally
it's good to skip a day. To say that fungal infection problems are
generally due to being "unclean" is simplistic.
By the way, I developed a theory that when showering, it is important to
keep the drying towel that's used for any areas affected by fungal
infection, separate from more critical areas such as eyes. This can
transfer bugs into other parts of your body.
Henry Mydlarz (who showered five hours ago).
Hi Henry ... given the original poster's nick and the subject
matter I figured it was a troll. Apparently I was mistaken.
oops !
cheers
