I have a Garmin portable, I have a GM Equinox with it built in, and I also have GPS service on two different cell phones.
Hands down, the Garmin portable is my favorite. It's VERY easy to use, the maps can be updated yearly by purchasing a new disk and connecting it USB via your computer. HOWEVER, I still use the cell phone's GPS when I need to look up a business by name, especially if it's a newer location as the phone GPS is continually updated.
