In some rodent varieties when they want a bunch to do diabetes research
they feed them a high fat diet of 60 percent of calories. The fat is
pure coconut oil. Diabetes soon appears. This chow has been
standardized for just this purpose.

Be careful about extrapolating that to humans.
Rodents normal chow is low fat.
