In this day and age we seem to need a Technical Life Coach, TLC, a
computer nerd with a sense of compassion. Many of us aren't up with
all the technology. A lot of new technology is fearfully expensive at
first so we don't buy into it. When it becomes common place we need a
bit of a helping hand. We accepted an offer of a "free" cell phone
for changing telephone providers. The phone is marvelous with built
in camera etc. In the past I'd only used a cell phone for text
messages to contact students so they would turn up. Now I am not
getting students. Not sure why. So I have the opportunity to explore
other ways of using the cell phone.
Each day I've set myself the task of playing with my cell phone. I'd
asked myself the question of why teenagers were so good with new
technology. Part of it might be because they are willing to play with
it. They don't have the fear many of us grew up with that it will
break if we press the wrong button. For more complicated things I
email my friendly TLC and he gives me some useful tips. Even ringing
the telephone company as simple as it seems was most successful.
Best wishes Priscilla and thank you,
You're welcome. And you're right about playing. I'm glad you have a
good TLC. Everyone needs a pet geek :-)
