Goodness.

That wouldn't be considered a very powerful endorsement
around here:-)

Cheers, Alan, T2, Australia.

Why wouldn't the ADA's endorsement of a product such as Splenda be
considered a very powerful endorsement on this newsgroup?

A good question.

It seems most posters do like, or at least have nothing really negative to
say about Splenda.

A fair observation.

An endorsement from the ADA means very much to most, if not all, of the
millions of diabetics in the world.

Of course it does, but that's irrelevant to what the members of a
small self-selected group think.

According to Google there are currently only 1694 members on this newsgroup.

You misunderstand the workings of newsgroups and Google. The number
Google reports is those who have accessed the newsgroup via
google. Most of those will be passersby who were looking for something
via google and passed on. Most of the members of this group don't use
google for access and aren't therefore counted by Google. However you
care to define a newsgroup member there is no doubt the number in the
case of this newsgroup is far smaller than Google's count.

Only 1 or 2 percent of those posting have ever posted anything negative
about the ADA.

If you're a long term reader it seems you have a poor memory. If
you've concluded this from doing google searches it seems you're
having difficulty with Google's newsgroup searches. That's
understandable given that over the years Google has made them more and
more difficult to operate, apparently in a misguided attempt to make
them easier to use by those who don't understand computer based
logical set combination searches.

An infinitesimal number of the posts on this newsgroup ever state anything
negative about the ADA, and almost all of those complaints come from the
same small handful of posters.

Certainly a result of at least one of poor memory, recent arrival, or
difficulty in operating Google's newsgroup search.
