People have knocked on your door? Here (in the US) those thick
laundry detergent bottles are just as good as sharps containers. And
if you live by a US VA Hospital, I think they have to take them.

I said earlier I burn them, receiving an outcry
about the legality. Once burned, they rust rather
quickly in a hole I bury them in on my property
along with lots of ashes. My recycling process
is suitable for the very rural region I live in.

I'll show you the spot and let you try to find a
needle that can prick skin after a month. I realize
that most people can't burn them as I do.

I burn here too and can do so legally. Although I have never burned
needles. As I can only burn dry paper, wood, and cardboard. Needles
isn't one of them. :(
