I think the best of the best foods in each category? Say, best
protein, best provider of calcium, best antioxidants, cancer
preventatives etc.

The best of a single micronutrient like calcium is easy - that's from
the USDA database, although those figures are really only directly
applicable to the US:
http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/Data/SR15/wtrank/wt_rank.html

I expect we'd argue about best protein, and particularly its fat
content. For me, the best would be the cleanest-raised animal you can
afford, and as much of an animal as possible, particularly including
heart for taurine and other organ meats.

I would be looking for calcium in the best product that at this point in
time is showing to be a superfood. Not sure if I am explaining that well
enough :) Lets say the most calcium came in 3 handfuls of almonds. I would
tend to go for yoghurt instead. Yoghurt is bg friendly for me so not a
problem. But the choice of almonds would still be there for someone who
didn't put on a stack of weight eating lots of nuts and it was ok bg-wise.
I'd be looking for carbs, calories and effects on bg's and triglycerides etc
for me.

I don't think there is a best antioxidant - I suspect you need as wide
a range as possible, because they work in synergy. So that's as broad
a range of colours as you can get in to your diet - a rainbow a day :D

Yes but if there were say 5-6 close contenders I could probably include all
in a day for variety becasue of the types of food they come in. As opposed
to eating 1 with lots of antioxidants and 4 mediocre ones.
