My brother had h.p he did have reflux...that is why they tested him for it...put him on antibiotics and the bacteria is gone as is his reflux.

I think that most of the GERD problems are related to HP, and the rest are from a weak muscle or hiatal hernia at the top of the stomach. If HP is left alone it will develop into an ulcer if it has the chance. That was how it was discovered. They used to think it was just a benign gut bacteria, but then discovered it was always present with ulcer patients. One guy got the idea to treat it, and the rest is history. What is amazing is that it was only discovered a few years ago. For years ulcers were a mystery.

Were you tested for helicobacter pylorii?
That is the bacteria that causes ulcers and it too can cause those symptoms.


It is subtle and only apparent from it's occasional
symptoms. I had no idea I had it or why I had odd gastro
symptoms over many years until my new doc tested me for it
shortly after he also discovered the CLL and type 2.

A 28-day course of antibiotics sorted it out completely.
