I have a whole set of old cast iron skillets in the basement, plus a set of LeCreuset dutch ovens. Also large roasters for turkey etc. And I could list tons more. One big cabinet is filled with extra cookware. One can never have enough excellent kitchen utensils.

I'm of the other mind; traveling light, having only what I need and truly love and use and getting rid of the rest and living an uncluttered life is almost like a new religion to me. :-)

The beneficiary has mostly been my kid; I saved the good stuff I hadn't used in years for the day she moved out and she's very well stocked. Didn't have to buy dishes, silverware (she's in college and has matching service for 12!) or many pots and pans. I got her a great braiser for everyday, and that's her go to pan, mostly.

The more toys
the better. To my credit, last summer I sent a huge box of cookware off to the local charity. Pots that were very good (circulon) but the non stick coating was getting worn off, as well as sizes I don't need etc. I go through it all once in a while and give away the duplicates or lesser favored in my collection. I admit I have a thing for it. :-)

I got rid of all the non stick in my house years ago. I have one commercial sized, deep circulon pan that I pretty much never use; it's in the basement. I hate the ridges on the surface of that stuff, but it's a good pan for when I want to make a huge batch of steamed clams out on the grill for a summer clambake.

I used to believe more is more, but now I want LESS. I freecycled like crazy when I moved here, and there's more to get rid of now, too.
