We are due for another bad storm now coming Sat. that includes high
winds. They are telling us to buy food for several days and prepare
for power outages. Temps. will be below zero. So... What do I do
if my insulin freezes? We have electric heat.

I suppose you can put it in a small pan or dish of water until it
thaws. I doubt if it will harm it, but it may be a good idea to call
your pharmacist and ask.

Good luck. I hope your electricity doesn't go off.
ok, if the insulin is in the fridge and there is no power, how does
the insulin in the fridge freeze? usually the temp in the fridge goes
UP (same with the freezer) despite lack of heating in the house

just thinking out loud..........

I don't know. I was thinking since the temps will be below freezing,
it would get below freezing in the house. But maybe not...

Not unless you live in a fucking igloo it won't.

I REALLY don't believe the level of idiocy on this thread. You for being
SO stupid you think your whole house (so presumably you and any other
life form therein) will freeze into a solid block, or those who've
handed out sage advice on how to keep you insulin runny.

Get some edu-fucking-cation ffs.

As my missus said, "This is a question that doesn't deserve and answer"
when I told her what "The Question" was.

Christmas cheer? What's THAT then.

Well, they are issuing warnings on the news that our pipes could freeze.
We are not used to this kind of weather in this part of the country and
we are ill equipped for it.

Ill equiped my fat arse. All you need to do is close the doors and
windows. Anyway, I'm betting it never gets cols enough to freeze ANYTHING,
let alone your pipes or your insulin. I'm REALLY beginning to think "Drama
Queen" here.

Nonsense! There are pipes bursting all over the place here. We are snowed
IN! I guess it's not on your news there? Three snow storms in a row. We
have lost power, but only briefly. Others are not so lucky.
