Had the endoscopy this morning and it was a nothing test, I was fast
asleep.

Here is my report starting from the top
scarring on the esophagus
moderate acid reflex
nervous stomach indicated by stomach spasms
and probably ibs . scheduled for colonoscopoy

I read chart before doctor came in and I thought I was dying because it
said multiple biopsies but he said I dont have cancer and it is just
routine.

NOw the bad thing, He prescribed nexium the purple pill. I went to
have it filled. 188 a month. No way can I do that. Insurance company
being asked to cut me a break because it is medically necessary. I hope
or I dont know what I will do. meanwhile I bought an over the counter
acid reliever same as pepcid and I also have prilosec.

Loretta,

The states of Massachusetts and California believe there is no difference in
how well Nexium and Prilosec treat GERD. (Both meds are made by
AstraZeneca.) In fact, the state of MA was suing the maker of Nexium and
Prilosec (same company) on the grounds that the company had mislead doctors
and the public into believing Nexium was really something better. Here's

You might ask your doctor is Prilosec wouldn't work just as well.
