Well, I just bought 30 dollars worth of groceries. Being a diabetic,
they cost me 63 dollars. Normal people get to eat some cheap potato
chips with their lunch... I gotta' eat 4 dollar soy chips... boooo!

$33 soy chips. They sure are expensive. <grin>

It worries me at times that T2 diabetics need to eat QUALITY food.

Basic things like milk, eggs, fish including tinned salmon, berries,
avocados. They all cost money. We/ve noticed the food prices rising
steeply and it things like milk that have risen sharply while rubbish
like soft drink hasn't.

Soy chips? I've never tasted one let along bought one so I guess
they aren't compulsory. My first response was to wonder why you were
eating them. Instead of potato one might be able to have other root
vegetables that have less carbohydrate. Of course I'm not your meter
so I don't know how you'd respond to simply eating some thing that
would cut back your carb intake to a third.

How about pumpkin chips? And eat only a few.

At least I lucked up on some Tenderloin tips at Publix. Same thing as
fillet... just ain't as pretty. Got 2 big ones for 14 bucks. (sweet
onion, yellow bell pepper and a beautiful tomato for dipping in
ranch).I'm happy now.

Sounds like good food. No wonder you were delighted.

2 hours till Monday Night Naked Grill time. The bitches are gone, and
the house is all mine. Better take my Lyrica, now, so I'll be stoned by
midnight.

Pumpkin chips? Never heard of those. Is there such a thing?

Okay. I looked them up and found this:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000H7EKCA

They look kind of vile though. Not sure I'd eat them (if I could eat
cheddar). But then I wouldn't eat soy chips either. And they're widely
available. At least here.

Food has certainly gone up though. These days I'm buying as much as I can
at Costco. Which isn't a lot given that they sell large sizes. I do buy
olives, flax bread, bacon (when they have the pre-cooked), chicken breast,
hamburger, a few other meats, fruits and vegetables. That saves us some
money but offers little variety.

I haven't been getting the organic produce boxes because we don't like the
stuff that has been in it. Like kale and winter squash. But when we like
the food, it certainly saves us money.
