it was an uncommon condition, and every time i went to hospital, i got every student Dr accompanied by the ENT specialist coming to 'see me'

then there were the PhD candidates asking questions for their thesis

i never went for my 'check up' after the 9th operation, i was pretty sick and tired of it, and, as i kept telling the PhD candidates, the MORE they touch this, the MORE they need to do surgery and the sooner they have to do surgery

fast forward 10 years, and i got the diabetes diagnosis........... i then thought 'oh my, i better get my follow up appt with the ENT'

so, i went to see him, he pulled my file, checked my sinuses, etc, and then said 'well, we don't operate on this anymore, it seems it only reoccurs faster if we touch it'

whatever! if i had known that i would have stopped after the FIRST ONE!

Oh, NO!!

I swear, for the most part, the less doctoring I get, the better off I am.

My new PCP has a sign in the exam room, "first, good nutrition exercise and healthy lifestyle, second, stress reduction at home and at work. Meds come last."

Susan

oh, i like his sign

i had come to a point with chronic tonsillitis that the GP referred me to the ENT, and the ENT found this 'polyp' which wasn't a polyp

when they first removed this tissue, i bled so much they had to transfuse 3 units of blood before they could stem the bleeding........ from then on, they used cocaine as a local on me, because novocaine didn't work as they expected it to

about 2 weeks after the surgery i would 'go spacey and feel funny' as the effects of the local anaesthetic wore off

lol
