Perhaps I worded my original post a bit too arrogantly. I really
didn't mean to. I did however, realize that continuing to go to the
diabetes class I was attending would have been a complete waste of
time. After reading the outline of the course, I realized that I knew,
in depth, all of the topics that would be covered.
Also, when the nutritionist said to me that diabetics could go into
ketoacidosis by not consuming at least 130g of carbs a day, I really
couldn't see how her advice could possibly help me. I politely asked
her if she meant ketosis and got a nasty look. :oD
When I was presented with my diet plan, which called for 45-60g of
carbs per meal, I questioned that. I said something to the effect
that, as diabetics, we could expect to fail Glucose Tolerance Tests
which call for ingesting 75g of glucose. Why should we eat diets which
would be almost the equivalent of failing GTTs 3 times a day? Got
another nasty look. :oD
