Dear very smart people on this group:

Sometimes when I prick my finger to check bg level, the blood is very
thin...like water. Other times it's thick, like oil or syrup. I've
noticed absolutely no relationship between thick or thin and bg reading.
(sometimes thin and high, sometimes thick and high; same for thick/low &
thin/low.) Just wondered if anyone else notices this and what it
means, if anything.
Thanks for reading my post.

I doubt there is a real difference in the thickness of the blood. The
difference is in the surface of the skin. If you wash your hands the same
way every time you test, the differency you notice will probably go away.

I test on my forearm and never wash the site and I definitely notice a
difference. Sometimes the blood is birght red, thin and watery,
sometimes dark red and so thick I have trouble getting the strip to
suck it up.
